The Opava City Championship as a dress rehearsal for mandatory lineups

On Friday, May 22, our girls used the Opava City Championship primarily as another opportunity to try out the mandatory sets in a competitive environment.

The competition environment is the best way to test what is already working in training and what still needs to be fine-tuned. The girls were able to test their sets on all four apparatus and gain additional valuable experience before the upcoming competitions.

Two of our competitors took part in the VS0A category. Victoria Vlčková took 1st place and Josefína Psíková took 3rd place.

We had a large presence in VS1A , where five SGC girls entered. Stella Vanthienen won, Elen Zielonková took 2nd place and Nikol Mikundová took 3rd place. Ema Tomisová finished fourth and Elizabet Darejan Papava fifth.

In the VS1B category, SGC was also represented by Ema Koláčková , who took 5th place.

The Opava City Championship thus mainly fulfilled its purpose for us - another competitive experience and the opportunity to check the mandatory sets outside the home gym .

Competitions like these are an important part of preparation. You can practice a lot in training, but only the competition environment will show how a gymnast can master her routine when she only has one attempt.
